Lately Apple introduced its 249 mb update for iPhone and iPod Touch to upgrade the version to 2.0.1 for Bug Fixes. After the upgrade people have reported to have got better keyboard responsive as it lagged before with backup and synchronization.

Last month, people have reported slowness, low signal strengths for 3G (it is still not sure, either it is the actual weak signals or problem with the display), battery issues, delays in starting camera application and failing to remember permission for the applications.

Now, you too can get the update through opening iTunes, then selecting iPhone, Summary, Version.

With the update, many Twitter users are reporting that it is faster than 2.0.0. Also the Pwnage Tool does not work with the update. Also, switching through applications on the home screen is faster and smoother. Contacts are faster too when you click the bookmarks, also, the Sync is faster too but there is no change in backup.

Now getting on to the other side of the upgrade. My upgraded his 2G iPhone really excited for all the “Bug Fixes” but he didn’t knew about the Pwnage Tool now working with the new upgrade so, all his applications which relied on the jail break crashed.

Now, for the 3G owners, i would suggest going for the update if you plan to use the phone with original carrier, as during the update, there might be an issue of getting your iPhone unlocked as there is a baseband update, so ill suggest being safe side, and not doing it yet. The officially unlocked SIM-Free iPhone 3Gs would work fine with the updates but the jailbreak will be lost which might cause alot of problems as you wont be able to reverse your upgrade.

Pwnage Tool is still under testing and i would really recommend all of the owners out there to wait for it come out, which will allow you to safely upgrade your phone with all your current Pwnage Tool features still working fine and you can easily disable the baseband update.

Be safe with the upgrade people, i would again tell you, wait for the update on he Pwnage Tool, you don’t wonna lose everything on your iPhone.
