Rumor: Kevin Rose says iPhone 3.0 update will include “Copy and Paste” and keep pace with Palm Pre

Rumor: Kevin Rose says iPhone 3.0 update will include “Copy and Paste” and keep pace with Palm Pre

At a live diggnation show at SXSW, Kevin Rose claimed that the new iPhone 3.0 software update will include support for copy and paste.

With Apple’s scheduled presentation on the iPhone 3.0 software update just 2 days away, the rumors about what the update will have are piling up. One of the more interesting, and perhaps credible, rumors comes from Digg co-founder Kevin Rose who recently said at a live Diggnation taping that the new iPhone 3.0 software will support Copy and Paste. (Insert applause here).

And how will Copy and Paste work? According to Rose,

You double click on a word.. you double tap on a word, and it brings up the magnifying glass, and it has 2 quotes on the end, and you drag the quotes around the [section] that you want to copy..

Seems simple enough. One issue that comes to mind, though, is how the phone will differentiate between double taps intended to initiate a cut or paste, and those intended to zoom in on a webpage?

iPhone 4G Concept: iPhone the New Macbook?

newiphonespecs-400x270
Gizmodo has posted another concept image for the iPhone 4G, and honestly this one does not look too bad. Perhaps the edges are a bit squared but the Macbook look to it seems to be a good idea. This concept is pretty enticing with features like 32 GB of storage, titanium body, 3.2 megapixel camera, and messaging light. The messaging light alone should be enough for Crackberry Kevin to upgrade from his 3G!

So what do you readers think? Is this the direction you’d like to see Apple take with iPhone? Keep in mind this is just a concept and we here at TiPb did not name it the iPhone 4G. Sound off in the comments!

New iPhone to be Announced this June?

iphone_oled
BGR is claiming some inside info from AT&T on the next hardware revision of the iPhone. The announcement is apparently slated for June (actual release unknown) and the new features line up with some of what we’ve been hearing. Top of the list is speed, with likely support for the higher-speed abilities of HSDPA on AT&T — up to 7.2MBps — which may also play into those multi-core rumors too. There’s also apparently going to be some sort of “U-Verse” app that will work with your home entertainment system (If there’s an IR port on this thing, I’ll eat my hat). The word “unified” gets tossed around a bit, but beyond it having something to do with Apple playing nice with AT&T’s services, it’s a little unclear.

Oh, and since it’s the hip thing to do, there’s a bit of netbook chatter tossed in at the end, but we’re not getting an Apple vibe off that. We’ll leave the netbook bits aside and ask: what feature do you most want? Video and Megapixels with a side of video publishing? OLED Display? iPhone HD? Free puppy with every purchase?
